A Slice of Boise's History, A Taste of Italy
Papa Joe’s is proud to call one of Boise’s most iconic landmarks home. Our restaurant is located in the historic West Rest Furniture Building, also known as “The Totem,” originally built in 1936 as a furniture manufacturing facility. Over the years, the building served many roles in the community, including use by the Civilian Conservation Corps and later as several well-known restaurants, including La Paluma and Dixon’s Seafood. In the 1960s, it became home to real estate and insurance offices, and in March of 1966, the famous 39-foot totem pole was installed, quickly becoming a recognizable Boise landmark.
Established in 1985, Papa Joe’s proudly continues this tradition as a community gathering place. For decades, we have served authentic Italian cuisine while honoring the building’s rich history. Our commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes ensures every visit to Papa Joe’s is both memorable and rooted in Boise’s past.
